About Joel Stransky
I am a Senior Software Engineer, UI/UX Designer, and Game Artist with over 30 years of experience developing interactive web applications. My work focuses on bridging the gap between interface design and front-end engineering architecture. I manage complex application state, design tokens, and browser-level runtime optimizations across various tech stacks, specializing in TypeScript, React, Next.js, SCSS, and monorepos.
My background includes engineering tools, framework standards, and custom browser extension components. At Konami Gaming, I replaced a legacy interface by implementing an open-source Chromium integration framework within a Java runtime, eliminating corporate software licensing fees and enabling native extension support for debugging. At College Loan Corporation, I consolidated six disparate platforms into a unified design system using variables and components in Figma, while optimizing layout performance to move site Google Lighthouse scores from C to A ratings.
I have also developed reusable parent-theme architectures for the University of Hawaii and contributed to the ePib framework standard for the Barnes & Noble Nook Color rollout. My graphics and 3D engineering experience spans Game Art training at Full Sail University to building real-time client-server physics orchestration using TypeScript and React within Roblox. My current focus includes implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and structuring developer automation tools.
